The Vans Authentic Pro S Alien Workshop is part of the Vans Syndicate line and is a collab with Mike Hill, the art director for Alien Workshop.
The shoes are built out of canvas and feature a special print on the insole and special branding. These came in a specially designed box with a dustbag, stamp kit and extra lace pouch. These released alongside a pair of Sk8 Hi boots.
I’m a big fan of Vans Authentics. They are one of the most basic styles and can be dressed up or down to mix with any look. I’m really digging the mint colorway on these and for $70, you really get a lot of extras and a collab. The same $70 at Nike would probably get you at best some Roshes in a plain orange box. I also am a fan of Alien Workshop and this collab in general (I copped both pairs out of the pack). It’s sad that the Vans Syndicate line is coming to an end!
These fit true to size and are fairly comfortable, although keep in mind this is a basic shoe. Don’t expect a lightweight lunarlon experience. If you get ankle rub easily from Vans, try wearing thick socks or bandaids on your ankles at points of contact for the first few wears until these break in.
